    Hi NAEYC community,
How many hours should we estimate to go through the new accreditation process starting after July 1, 2021?  (Not provisional accreditation) We don't iperate separate classrooms but are a center capacity 20 children, licensed age 3 to entry to 1st grade.
    Thank you in advance,
    Laila

    Laila,

Do you have a state or regional NAEYC coach or other person available to you?  Is there a NAEYC accredited center similar to yours in your area who may have already been through the process with the new criteria?  My previous IAEYC coach said, "Do one standard a day?"  If you have a lot of these standards in place already, that's partially possible.  Our ministry has been through the process before, but new criteria did not align exactly with old criteria.  There was less duplication between portfolios.  I also had to revise a lot of paperwork for program standards we may have had in practice, but not in print.  Accreditation is still a lengthy process, but it is worth it to take a critical look at the opportunities you are providing for early learning and a great place to work!

Thank you Gwyn, I'll look into how to find an NAEYC coach.  (Or if anyone reading this thread would like to point me in that direction to seek one!)
I have spoken with a couple of colleagues who have experience with the renewal process but their sites were originally accredited by others and prior to the new NAEYC process, which I believe will be released on July 1.  Nevertheless the comment shared with me so far contained some frustration with the repetition or duplication in the submission.  So that's good to now hear from you they've ironed that out.

Anyway, I'd appreciate keeping this thread question open for more input on estimating the time (hours) to go through the entire process.

    Thanks very much!

On Naeyc website there is a link to local Accreditation Facilitation Projects. They can often provide you with coaching. They are listed by state.#
