Hello, everyone!  I just returned from NAEYC Conference in Washington, D.C.  I have attended the annual conference for many years, first as a student, then as a young preschool teacher.  Now that I am older, I have the honor of attending the conference with students in our ECED Program at Southeast Community College in Lincoln.  The recent membership changes affected student in a big way.  Not only is the student membership category a thing of the past, there is no student registration rate to attend the conference.  Thanks to generous local support, we were able to bring our three student group officers to Washington, D.C.

It is my hope that as we move forward and encourage students to be future leaders in the field, that we each advocate for students in our areas to be able to enjoy the benefits of belonging to a strong national association, without "breaking the bank."
