Are there favorite websites from teachers for pre-k math concepts. Current teacher hasn't produced proof for her kids binders they have learn math anything. So for my smart goal in April I want to do things to produce. Teacher says she has experience and knows how but her way of teaching is a boredom to kids and kids are inattentive and disruptive.  Makes for frustration. I am not certified in pre k learning.

I've tried to communicate with her but it's like talking to a wall.   Help!

Hi Susan, you might check out the website www.mathathome.org. It has activities for infants, toddlers, and Pre-K. You might also share with the teacher this page on Big Ideas in early math from Erikson Institute.

    Best of luck!

    Dear Susan,

Thank you for the math question. If I were to put on my preschool teacher hat, one thing I would always remember is to make math an organic part of the classroom. For instance, during snack time, count out the snacks. When children put their items away, say, "one hook for one coat," which is an easy (and fun if you add music) way to get them use to one-to-one correspondence.

Here is an informative blog post by Eugene Geist that discusses the idea of math talk.

"The Young Child and Mathematics" is a great book to support you in creating a classroom that embraces math readiness.

And here is a link to free math resources.

    I hope this helps.
