    Hello,

I was hoping to ask for guidance on safety plans with personal belongings, such as crib sheets and cot covers.  How often per week are you laundering the bedding in your center?

Thank you very much for your ideas,

CDC guidance suggests bedding is sent home weekly

    Clean and Disinfect Bedding

    • Use bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags) that can be washed. Keep each child's bedding separate, and consider storing in individually labeled bins, cubbies, or bags. Cots and mats should be labeled for each child. Bedding that touches a child's skin should be cleaned weekly or before use by another child.

    Hello!
We allow 1 blanket, no pillows, stuffed animals or backpacks. We keep the blanket here onsite and wash daily. We limit items coming and going into the center.

You may want to look for guidance from your state's licensing agency. Here in Iowa, for example, we must wash bedding materials daily during the pandemic. Prior to this each child had his/her own cot sheet, blanket and pillow case and we washed them once a week.

We reopened on June 1 and had children take bedding home everyday. We encouraged families to have two sets of bedding so they could send fresh bedding each day. Unfortunately, many families did not do that so we got back bedding that had baked in a hot car overnight!! We now send bedding home on Friday but wash sheets twice a week.
