    Hello friends,
Next Tuesday April 27, the Diversity and Equity Interest forum will be hosting a new kind of book club.  Bring your favorite anti-bias picture book to share with your colleagues.  I've posted this here before, but thought I'd post again, in case anyone missed it.  Hopefully the link will work correctly on the first try this time.  I'll put it in the responses also- just in case.

Sharing our Most Effective Anti-Bias Picture Books! (bring one of your favorite anti-bias picture books to share)

    • Week 1:  Tuesday, April 27,  6 pm -7:30 pm Central time (4 pm Pacific, 7 pm Eastern).  Books that celebrate children's social identities, supporting them to value themselves (without feeling superior) and respect and value others. These could be related to race, gender, language, culture, family structure, economic class, ability, religion or any other topic related to societal biases.
    • Week 2: Tuesday, May 11, 6 pm - 7:30 Central time  Books that support children to notice and reject societal biases including racism and other forms of oppression.
    • Week 3: Tuesday, May 25, 6 pm -7:30 Central time.  Books that nurture children's skills in standing up for themselves and standing with others when bias and stereotypes happen.

Sign up here to get the link for the book club.  We'll send out the link and more information this coming weekend.
