    Hello Everyone,

I've been listening to this podcast,1619 by Nikole Hannah Jones. While this podcast may not be directly related to our everyday work with children, I wanted to share it as we are living the ramifications of our history every day. Have any of you listened to it yet? What do you think? Are there other podcasts that you recommend? Share them here!

    Tonya,

Wow! I'm impressed, John Hopkins Unuversity! 👏👏

I agree, I have been caught on the 1619 series as well. Sad it ended. So much I even did not know about. It made me feel a lot of emotions all at once. Specially in this day and time that farmers still have the issue we thought was no longer an issue in our time. I found myself emotional, sad, angry, furious, frustrated, helpless, hopeful, and yet felt there is still a long way to go. Our current political climate is all about politicians not about the people. I find myself daily wanting to fire them all and hire politicians who dare to stand up for what is right, fair, and good for all, care or have unending need to make a difference.

Here are a few of my favorite podcasts that keep me informed and I trust to be closest to the truth.

    NYT The Daily
(9/28 episode Kids episode was about interviewing Ela and how she has learned to face her fears)

I LOVE Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline podcasts. She doesn't necessarily "teach" in them, but she uses stories and testimonies from programs, districts, etc., that do, and LOVE it!

I like Truth for Teachers by Angela Watson. It is a positive and problem solving approach to support teachers in navigating the challenges of day to day work experiences including work-life balance and avoiding burnout.

I highly recommend Build Math Minds by Christina Tondevold. It's fairly new- it started around April, and it's on episode 33. They are short, usually not more than 20 minutes long. The name pretty much describes the theme of the podcasts. But it's also related to their website, which is a HUGE bank of professional development resources. I've had quite a few A-HA moments! Amazing stuff!

Just saw this thread from last month, Thanks for asking Tonya! I'm always looking for podcasts to listen to. So I hope more people get on and share!

    My favorites in early ed:
    1. Teaching with the Body and Mind: explorations early learning
< 25 minutes long, 4 hosts which means you don;t get annoyed or bored by just one person ;)  Relevant topics and teacher's perspective.

    2. HIMAMA
Ron brings on a bunch of interesting people and topics. I am biased since I was on one of his episodes.

    3. Teacher's aide archive from BAM radio
