I agree with your response! Not that I am against private run healthcare facilities, but it is very costly for some families. I think if all these centers are under one umbrella and getting the same support from the states or educational system it would be better for both the centers and the families. The main concerns should be the benefit and improvement for our young learners with less strain on families.

Depends on your state's implementation but I urge you look into this now because, in the case of CA, we are advocating for change to a mixed delivery system rather than funding going only to public school districts - which was legislated swiftly and without sufficient input by the EC sector or providers. Bottom line, UPK is implemented in different ways across the country and the "results will vary" for families - who deserve options to meet their needs, and for educators across the variety of pre-K programs. My idea is to fund any programs that meet criteria of diversity that match what's representative of the general area (not only of the immediate neighborhood, which is de facto segregated). I believe children need to be learning in diverse settings from the start of their lives, and hand in hand with that of course teachers need to learn to work with a diversity of families/children, co-workers etc.--

Untitled No. 1 has as its mission to serve our community by offering families and children a joyous and engaging preschool experience, replete with opportunities to learn from nature and from one another. Because children learn best in diverse settings, Untitled No. 1 admits families evenly spread across income levels and provides scholarships to achieve this balance.
Regard each person as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.
