Hello NAEYC community! I am new to the organization and wanted to quickly introduce myself.
I'm a consultant who has been working with libraries and early childhood education communities since 2012. My original focus was on outreach to Latinx immigrant communities and bilingual early literacy programming. I continue that work, but I am also a children's yoga and mindfulness teacher, specializing in preschool. In 2017 I founded Stories, Songs, and Stretches!, a yoga-inspired and science-informed early learning startup dedicated to ensuring kids are school-ready in body, heart, and mind. I regularly travel the country providing training on the use of mindful movement and stillness to enhance early literacy, physical literacy, and social-emotional skill development. I'm also in the process of recording and launching on YouTube a Stories, Songs, and Stretches! video series for use in the classroom, teaching guides, and an album of children's yoga and mindfulness music.
My vision is to help develop an entire mindful generation of school-ready kids. If this resonates with you, I'd love to connect!
