Good Morning Everyone,
I am curious to hear how everyone handles staff who need/want time off. I currently have employees complete a Time Off request form and I have been making sub arrangements, but it seems like some days that is all I am getting done. Does anyone require/expect their staff to work on finding their own replacement and then submit the request? Thanks for your input....

We require our staff to submit R/O forms at least two weeks in advance and do a weekly schedule which includes coverage for those R/O days.  We have part time and full time subs on staff that if not subbing for a teacher, are used for lunch breaks and to provide teachers with planning time.

Feel free to reach out to a college nearby, if the have a child care center.  I check in with Early Childhood Education students each semester and make a list of students who are willing to sub at my Center, babysit for families and sub at other local centers.  Then I share the list with other local directors who request it.

At our school, teachers are required to find their own sub from our list before requesting time off.
