Spanish Articles/Resources Needed

    HI all,

I'm currently working at a daycare center in Mexico and I'm trying to help the teachers learn more about child development and anger management for teachers. Does anyone have any articles in Spanish about anything on these lines? Or anyone know of a good website where I could download some articles in Spanish?

    Thanks so much!

Hello - the Head Start Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center  website has more than 1,000 resources available in Spanish: https://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/es/search/eclkc?q=&start=0&filter=&site=es

You can also find professional development content in Spanish at www.colorincolorado.org

I hope you will also consider finding resources via MEXTESOL or other organizations or universities that were written with Mexican policies, approaches, and terms in mind.

    Wishing you the best!

The Anti-Bullying and Teasing Book for Preschool - Sprung, Froschel & Hinitz [Gryphon House - a Kaplan Company] is available in Spanish as well as English. The songs & poetry section in the back of the Spanish edition has materials written originally in Spanish. They are not Spanish translations of English poems and songs. BH

I love Coloring Colorado! ColorinColorado.org You can search for articles in your native language (English or Spanish), then click a button at the bottom to translate it. I use it with my families for our Kindergarten packets.

Great question! since this was last posted, the Head Start ECLKC website has a lot MORE resources translated into Spanish - there is a button at the top of the menu to choose English or Spanish. Something really new is the Ready_DLL app that provides resources, videos, and helpful phrases for teachers of children who are DLLs. It uses a fun gaming format and is free for Android and IOS!

Colorin Colorado is also a great website with literacy materials in English and Spanish.

And Hispanic Information Technology Network has a website for families HITNLearning with resources and blogposts in English and Spanish.

I have used coloring Colorado before and like it. Thanks for the other resources for Spanish info. I know the Head Start site is putting more and more in Spanish. Thanks again for sharing.

    These are great -- thanks!

Follow up: does anyone know of a resource with brief (one page), intelligent but readable bilingual descriptions of core components of ECE? For example, the new NAEYC DAP draft statement is in both English and Spanish, but the sections are very long and detailed -- it's a bit more complex than would work for my purposes.

    Any ideas?

Dear colleagues - _Una Guia Prevencion de Bullying y Burlas [en salones de clases del pre-escolar_ has been available in Spanish for several years. It is the Spanish edition of _The Anti-Bullying and Teasing Book_ [Sprung, Froschl & Hinitz, Gryphon House]. Gryphon House has several other relevant books in Spanish. Blythe Hinitz
