Hello! I am wondering if anyone has experience changing regular faucets in children's bathrooms to the touchless or hands-free type of faucet. If so, do you have any advice to share and do you have any information as to the cost? Thank you!

We have had hands free faucets for years (sorry, I cannot recall the price). They are wonderful; the only drawback is that they are battery operated, and the configuration or our sink/cabinet is that you have to contort your body to change the batteries. If you can place the faucet in a location that it is easy to change out the batteries, you will love them. The bateries last a LONG time.

Our contractor supplied the faucets, I would have to check with him who his supplier is.  I think they ran about $400 each.  He also installed touch free toilet valves that were $535 each.  That did not include the plumber labor.

We ordered them online over 10 years ago; I am sorry that I don't have that information anymore.

    Good morning to all

We were able to change our faucets after the Pandemic started to the hand-free faucets.  It's definitely better.

    Susan,
we did a ground up restoration and considered using these. Chose not to for several reasons. Cost was one, difficulty with use- sometimes the sensors simply don't work or are hard to start and installation cost.  I ended up using faucets with a single lever handle which I had installed at the side of the sink rather than the back. The children can use their arms to turn them off. Does that make sense?  I do have hands free soap dispensers and automatic paper towel dispensers.  Good luck...

We just recently used some of our "covid funds" to replace all of our faucets with touchless.  So far, so good, teachers love them.  I'm sure we are saving water.  Good to hear the batteries last a long time, that was one concern.  We are now working on getting the soap dispensers and then paper towel dispensers.  The less sharing of germs, the better in my book.
