This has been one of our goals as well for our busy families. We created a postcard that we gave out at the beginning of the year which notes several community building ideas: 4 open classroom mornings where parents can come in and share classroom activities, Meet Ups where families can share out of school activities (bicycling at a local elementary school on a Saturday, pumpkin picking, camping, etc.) and all school evening family events like an Around the World night where families share foods, dance and music from their cultures. We have also invited the parents to share one of our professional trainings on child development learning alongside their children's educators. It seems to working well! I hope others have even more ideas.

Subject: Parent Relationships
Hello! In our parent's evaluaion of our program last year, we found that the parents did not believe we were encouraging relationships between them. We set a goal for our program to improve that this year. We have had a refreshment break with parents and myself to sit and talk and a space themed Open House.for families with fun booths for the children. I would like to hear about how other programs support relaionships between families.
